Start for GMES Land Cover Information Sharing Demonstrator

The European Space Agency contracts € 1 Mio. on activity "SOSI - Spatial Observation Services and Infrastructure". EOX is supervising SOSI technically and the trial of new SOA-based environmental data services in a team with the companies ANF Data (CZ), GISAT (CZ), MEEO (I), Siemens (A, H), and Spacebel (B).  In the coming months a network of test implementations will be set up which will be jointly operated by the European Space Agency, the European Environment Agency, and the participating organizations from the European Member States Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Luxembourg. Among others the very first operational products of Kopernikus, Europe’s Global Monitoring for Environment and Security initiative (former GMES), will be loaded and made accessible via the SOSI infrastructure (High resolution core land cover data for built-up areas, including degree of soil sealing, 2006). SOSI aims at demonstrating Internet-standard Service Oriented Architecture concepts building upon the tools provided by the so-called Service Support Environment, a development line of the European Space Agency.

IKONOS Service for European PIs delivered to ESA

The catalogue and product ordering service system for European IKONOS satellite imagery is now ready for use by Principal Investigators (PIs) who have corresponding arrangements with the European Space Agency (ESA). EOX delivered the system to ESA during the On-Site Acceptance Test (OSAT) held end of July.

Plèiades Online Data System Contracted

On July 27, 2008 contract signature took place for "PAT+ 3 - Product Access Technology for Plèiades User Services - Development of operational System (Phase 3)", a contract awarded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) to EOX IT Services GmbH.
